Changing the battery, calibrating the GPS, and assessing for damage caused by wear and tear are all routine maintenance tasks. If not properly maintained, ELT may not be triggered during an incident or may issue false alarms, resulting in significant fines.

To avoid such events, operators tend to replace their ELTs after a set period of time, which is boosting the demand for durable and reliable ELTs. Ongoing technological innovation provides constant improvement, which make ELTs more compact and dependable.
