Segments - Global Hydraulic Cylinder Market by Designs (Tie Rod Cylinder, Welded Body Cylinder, Telescopic, and Mill Type), Bore Size (<50 mm, 50–150 mm, and >150 mm), Functions (Single Acting and Double Acting), Applications (Industrial Equipment and Mobile Equipment), Industries (Construction, Aerospace & Defense, Material Handling, Agriculture, Mining, Automotive, Marine, Oil & Gas, and Others), and Regions (North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Middle East & Africa) - Global Industry Analysis, Growth, Share, Size, Trends, and Forecast 2023 - 2031
The Global Hydraulic Cylinder Market size was valued at USD 13.89 Billion in 2022 and is projected to reach USD 24.07 Billion by 2031, expanding at a CAGR of 6.3% during the forecast period 2023 - 2031. A hydraulic cylinder consists of a piston rod, piston, and cylindrical barrel. The piston is placed within the barrel, which is connected to the piston rod.
The cylinder head and the cylinder bottom, close the head and bottom of the barrel, respectively. The cylinder bottom and the piston rod are mounted with mounting clevises or brackets. The cylinder head is the side from where the piston rod exits the cylinder. The piston in the hydraulic cylinder consists of seals and sliding rings.
The global hydraulic cylinder market is driven by rising demand for material handling equipment and ongoing construction activities, which are anticipated to contribute to economic growth. Growing applications of hydraulic cylinder across overhead traveling cranes, agricultural machines, forklifts, and luffing cranes are projected to fuel product demand during the forecast period.
In hydraulic cylinder increases the concern regarding oil leak, as it is hazardous to the environment. Various factors such as connections, inappropriate fittings, and environmental parameters leads to oil leakage in hydraulic cylinders are restraining the market. Rise in the demand for lifting equipment in the shipping industry is fueling the demand for hydraulic cylinders.
The report on the global Hydraulic Cylinder Market includes an assessment of the market, trends, segments, and regional markets. Overview and dynamics have also been included in the report.

Definitions
Tie Rod Cylinder
Tie rod cylinder have rectangular or square end caps, which is fastened to each end by the barrel rods that pass-through holes in the corners of the end caps. The end of each tie rod has a nuts thread that secures the end caps of the barrel. End-cap/barrel interface static seals are used to prevent leakages. Tie rod cylinder is available in various designs such as four tie rods on the cylinder, which thread into tapped holes on one of the end caps.
Freestanding Hydraulic Cylinder
Welded body cylinders do not consist of tie rods. However, the ports of the welded body cylinders are welded to the barrel, which is welded directly to the end caps. The front rod of the gland is threaded or bolted into the cylinder barrel, which allows the rod seals and piston rod assembly to be removed from services. Moreover, welded body cylinder consists of the end flanges that are welded to the barrel and the end caps that are attached to each flange.
Telescopic
Telescoping cylinders have five or more sets of stages or tubing that are nested inside one another. Each stage of telescoping cylinders is equipped with a bearing and seal surface, which act as piston rod and cylinder barrel. The telescoping cylinders are available in the single-acting stage, although the double-acting version is available in the market.
In terms of applications, the hydraulic cylinder market is bifurcated into single-acting and double-acting hydraulic cylinders. The single-acting segment is projected to grow at a significant pace due to rising demand for material handling equipment in the food & beverage industry, as it creates a linear motion for the assembly lines and conveyor belts.
Moreover, growing demand for low maintenance, energy-efficient, and emission less equipment in various industries such as food & beverage, chemical, and manufacturing are expected to create the demand for single-acting hydraulic cylinder during the forecasted period.
Based on regions, the global hydraulic cylinder market has been divided into North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa, and Latin America. Asia Pacific is a prominent region of the hydraulic cylinder market due to the rise in infrastructure and industrialization. The demand for hydraulic cylinders is high in developed nations such as the UK, France, Japan, the US, and Germany. Moreover, the demand for hydraulic cylinders is expected to rise in various industries such as agricultural equipment, aviation, industrial machine, and construction equipment in countries such as South Africa, Brazil, India, and China.
