Emerging and hybrid approaches such as electrochemical recycling, bioleaching, and plasma treatment are gaining traction for their selectivity and reduced environmental footprint.

The electronics industry is the largest end-user, consuming recycled GaAs for high-speed and high-frequency components. The solar energy sector is growing rapidly, especially for GaAs-based panels in space and premium terrestrial installations. Telecommunications is a major end-user driven by 5G infrastructure expansion. Aerospace and defense rely on high-purity GaAs for radar, satellite communications, and electronic warfare systems. Recycled GaAs materials are primarily used in semiconductors, which represent the largest application segment due to demand for high-speed integrated circuits and RF devices.
