The allergy risk factors include a family history of allergies, vitamin D deficiency, and obesity. Allergies occurs when immunoglobulin E (IgE), a part of the body's immune system, binds to food molecules. It triggers the release of inflammatory chemicals which includes histamine. Treatment is based on a medical history, diet, skin prick test, and blood tests for food-specific IgE antibodies.
